Lawyer Referral Service

The purpose of the Lawyer Referral Service is to make legal services readily available to residents of Cumberland County, NJ by providing a way in which anyone who can afford a reasonable fee for legal services but who does not know an attorney may be referred to a member of the Cumberland County Bar Association. A person referred by the Lawyer Referral Service is given a half-hour initial consultation at a rate of no more than $35.00 except in family law cases where a fee of up to $75.00 may be charged for an hour consultation. The fee will cover a conference and advice but not the preparation of documents. If the attorney agrees to undertake representation of the person referred, fee arrangements after the initial consultation will be those agreed to by the client and attorney.
