The purpose of the Cumberland County Bar Foundation is for such charitable and not-for-profit purposes as may be permitted by law, specifically, but not limited to educational as to the purpose and function of the law, rendering of legal assistance and guidance to members of the foundation, the Cumberland County Bar Association, and the general public, as well as other beneficial and charitable works and deeds. Each year the Cumberland County Bar Foundation seeks out resident students of Cumberland County who are interested in legal studies for its scholarship program. It is the goal of the Bar Foundation to promote and encourage students whose career choices include attorney, paralegal, or a related field.
Every year the Bar Foundation and its members raise funds that are awarded to deserving students of Cumberland County who aspire to a career in the law. To be eligible for a scholarship award, the student must be a high school senior, a student at Cumberland County Community College, or a current or prospective law student.
If a career in the law or a related field is your goal and financial assistance would help you on that path, please complete the appropriate application below. Remember to include the additional documents required in the instructions and mail the complete package to the Bar Association address postmarked no later than March 25, 2010. Applications postmarked later than March 25 will not be considered.
